There is great happiness in not wanting, in not being something, in not going somewhere...

Fairy Wings and Pretty Things Part 2

Now I am not sure if I mentioned in the last post about the  FAIRY TEA PARTY, I become a tad obsessive and I go just a little over board!!!! Yes, I will admit I am totally OCD when it comes to little madame's party's. Now I feel i need to defend myself! I honestly do not remember any of my party's as a child, sooooo I have this odd obsession that I want my Little Madame to remember all of hers. My family all fall about laughing and call me horrible dictatorial names..... I kid you not - I become a right mare.... Boxes are packed and every one, in the family has a specific job to do, Thank Heaven for them, this only happens once a year!

So lets get on with the last phase of a FAIRY TEA PARTY......

Party Central - LSO 's Office!

Party packs were so easy this year, as the theme of this party was lovely. I popped down to a plastic wholesale shop and managed to find gorgeous little tea cups and saucers, into the cups went a little butterfly, fairy dust(which I decanted into tiny bottles and popped into an organza bag), an Easter egg, A tiny lip gloss and nail polish.

All Packed

I then cut a sqaure of tulle and wrapped the cup up in it, tying the top and elastic band and then organza ribbon..... so very pretty!

They Looked Lovely

I made pink round table cloths for the tables and as they have umbrella's in the middle of them(and FORGIVE me but are rather unattractive and needed help - desperatly!), I had to be able to wrap them and they still needed to close! So lots of ingenuity and velcro later, I had 5 tables cloths!( they were really very difficult to photograph - but I promise to show them to you later... I made all manner of pink and white stripped/polka dot/floral table cloths for the dessert and adult food table, I was up to my eyeballs in PINK and WHITE!!!!

Table Cloths Galore!

Large pink butterfly's that I simply added long ribbon to, these would hang with the tulle pompoms...

Butterfly Mobiles

I can not bear to throw away glass jars, I keep them all in a humassive(Little Madame's new word for super MASSIVE) box just outside the kitchen, I even have school moms giving me boxes of bottles at the gate..... so I picked 3 bottles for each table and tied various pink (of course) ribbon around them.. see that ribbon stash is totally useful! These would have pink flowers in them

Dressed up Bottles

Fairy Wands ...... Bought not made.....I saw them and they were really very reasonable! In a vase with some rickrack wrapped around it - I often find the simplest ideas are so exquisitely beautiful!

Magical Wands For Fairy Spells

Next came meters and MeTeRs AND METERS of bunting - I used my trusty pinking shears to cup out the flaggy part and them simply sewed them onto a long strip of tape!

Bunting

Two whole weeks before the party everything was done(LURVE being so very organised!) Boxes were stacked, full of very beautiful pink pretty things! I had organised a  FAIRY face painter(My very creative friend Kerry - Who by the way is now face painting as  a side line...) A FAIRY hair dresser(my other very creative friend Gemma and her lovely mom, Michelle) There were FAIRY tiara's to decorate and sweets and sprinkles to decorate  FAIRY cupcakes. In the freezer was coconut ice, macaroons, cake pops, meringues and every kind pink sweet I could find had been bought!

Boxed Party!

So everything was at the ready, the only thing I needed to do was bake the birthday cake (which had been chosen the day after last years party!) All the work was done ..... Now all that remained was to see if the vision in my head would all come together on the big day........ And then I begin to stress.... have I done everything..... and then I see some other wonderful FAIRY thing to make or FAIRY activity to do and I start all over again.... I told you I am a TOTAL NIGHTMARE - didn't I ? xxx

I LOVE RickRack

PS:: I promise the party post will follow shortly!
